Diploma in Tourism Management

Who is this for?

It is designed for students who wish to broaden their career options. It is a prelude to a degree in Hotel & Convention Management or Hotel & Restaurant Management as well as a bridge into an employment situation which utilises their skill set.

Programme Description

The Diploma in Tourism Management exposes students to global tourism and hospitality practices, while providing them with a good understanding of recent trends and ethical issues that exist in the dynamic and fast-paced tourism industry. The programme combines with theoretical and practical training including essential leadership, management and professional training, which is necessary for entry-level management positions.

Programmes Aim

This programme aims to prepare students with the technical and practical skills for the real world environment with confidence at the same time mold them to be diligent and intelligent in facing challenges and competition in the industry

Career Prospects

Upon completion of this programme, graduates can go on to work in various sectors within the industry, including hotels, travel agencies, sports clubs, casinos, and exhibition or convention centres. Graduates can also work as tour coordinators, travel advisor’s and travel sales & marketing representatives.

Entry Requirements

(Programme only at CC-KK Wisma Times)

Minimum entry requirements:

  • A pass in SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with at least credits in any 3 subjects; or
  • Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of Grade B in any three (3) subjects inclusive of Mathematics and also a PASS in English subject; or
  • Certificate (or equivalent qualification) in any related field with minimum CGPA of 2.00; or
  • Any other qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government.
